As a huge fan of the late Jean “Moebius” Giraud, I found the BBC documentary Moebius Redux: A Life in Pictures to be a fascinating window into the art and life of this unique comics creator.
For those unfamiliar with Moebius’ prolific body of work, the French artist’s futuristic images found a welcome home in the pages of Heavy Metal magazine and other comic-book publications in the ’70s and ’80s. But his influence stretches beyond comics impacting other media, most notably the cinema. Moebius’ otherworldly imagery was a source of inspiration for film director Ridley Scott’s Alien and Blade Runner and many other films.
Here’s Moebius Redux: A Life in Pictures in its entirety. Enjoy!
